They are about egotistical crap designers trying to be better then others and a group of people believing they are being cultured by going.
Is the fashion show with people wearing them or not, if so who are the models?

would i be advertising something like that? all it for is to raise awareness of sweat shops and to show there is an alternative to sweat shop made clothes which isnt just goat hair ponchos and flip flops. the clothes are just regular sort of stuff, t shirts, jeans, shoes, shirts hats and are being modelled by normal people our own age. none of whom are pro models. there will be a cat walk with people walking down it, yes.
seeing something a bit different > being boring.

But surely your clothes are sweatshop ones? And who was it who said they didn't care if there clothes were made in sweatshops as there is no way of stopping it?

romegoux was a definate typing error cos i know how to spell that! and iv never had the need to write the word those tiny little pastry things posh people eat so i wasnt sure how it was spelt.
and in response to alec, yes of course they are. we realise that we and you and all of us will have seatshop made clothes, it would be almost impossible to not have, but this is about finding an alternative and making conditions in sweat shops better. there is a way of stopping it, its called popular protest and solidarity. just look at segregation in the US 50 years ago, "theres no way of stopping that" they said...
boycotts rarely work either, as 10 people who stop buying nike trainers is hardly gonna stick it to the man is it? however, saying "i really want to buy your shoes mr nike, but i dont like the fact children are dying making them, it would be good if you could do something about this..." also, solidarity with the striking workers who are often verbally, physically and sexually harrassed and abused will help too, as stopping the production of the goods WILL send a message to the bosses. its easy to get into some anti-capitalist rant on these subjects but its mainly just about improving the conditions for the workers first

Well I'm going, sitting on your arse worrying that you may be considered too worthy or poncey if you express your political views or try to make a difference gets fuck all done.
